Harrogate knitting, sewing and crochet group

A new Harrogate knitting, sewing and crochet group is being launched at 10 Devonshire Place. We’ll be holding sessions every Monday for crafters to come together and pursue their hobby in our warm and friendly surroundings.

Knitting, sewing and crochet groups have been springing up across the UK as crafting experiences a revival alongside other pursuits such as baking and gardening. The success of the Great British Bake Off shows how popular these traditional hobbies have become.

The current trend is for crafting groups to meet in relaxed and comfortable venues such as cafes where people can socialise, discuss their creations, and share advice and tips.

And we reckon there’s no more welcoming a venue than 10 Devonshire Place – so we thought we’d launch our very own ‘Knit and Natter’ club! It’s actually the idea of our bar manager Natalie, who ran a similar session in her previous job in Knaresborough which was a big hit.

Nat says: “It’s a great opportunity for crafters of all ages and abilities to meet and make friends, and to enjoy their hobby in a group of like-minded people rather than sitting at home doing it alone.

“10 Devonshire Place is well-known for its warm and friendly vibe as well as its nice surroundings – we even light a log fire when it’s really cold! Our new Knit and Natter sessions will offer Harrogate crafters a chance to come together and share their passion in an informal, friendly and sociable way.

“And, of course, the bar will be open, and we’ll have discounts on different drinks each week. Hot drinks and bar snacks will also be available.”

Knit and Natter sessions at 10 Devonshire Place take place every Monday, starting on March 27. Sessions are free and you can drop in at any time between 5pm and 7.30pm. Just bring along whatever you’re working on, along with any materials and tools needed.

For the first session there'll be a £5 gin and tonic offer, with a choice of over 100 different gins. Plus, there'll be no corkage charge added to any bottles selected from our in-house shop – that means £5 off a bottle of wine and 50p off beer bottles or cans.

Hope to see you there!
