Clos Quatres Vents Margaux, 2008.

Product Description
A remarkable wine from a unique vineyard, Clos des Quatre Vents comprises just 1.2 ha of vines surrounded on four sides by well-known
Cru Classé vineyards, occupying the best spot at the top of the "croupe" of Margaux.
The plants are between 80 years old and so produce fruit of great intensity. The passage of the four winds across this elevated vineyard
throughout the year ensures a fresh and healthy crop each vintage, and this purity is translated through careful harvesting and vinification
into a wine of real elegance backed by restrained power. Malolactic fermentation in barrique often results in striking aromas of smoky oak, vanilla and caramel, but not in this wine, where the fruit flavours achieve a perfect balance with the oak character.
A wine that will achieve full maturity a decade from the vintage, but which enjoys such balance that it can be enjoyed in its youth. Decant
one hour before serving to allow the complex aromas to develop and match with red meat dishes and the finest cheeses.
The wine spends 18 to 20 months in 100% new French oak barriques.
A really perfumed, sexy bouquet of cool black and red berry fruit, cut flowers, minerals and graphite. The palate has a silky smooth texture, with ample plum liqueur fruit, cool cassis and a gravelly minerality.
